Feeling unhappy or miserable can make a person hard to hang around with.   Here are some tips to get you happy again.

 

1)       Drink plenty of water.  Water has been known to benefit moods – average person should be drinking between 8-10 cups of water per day.

2)      Get plenty of sleep.  Average person should be resting between 7-8 hours a day. 

3)      Find someone you can talk to – often talking about the problem can help you to overcome it.  They do not have to have a solution but getting “it” out can be the solution within itself.

4)      Do not skip meals – skipping meals can often make a person irritable. 

5)      Make a schedule and follow it.  Planning out your activities can reduce stress. 

 

6)      Take a lunch – leave your desk even for 15 minutes a day will help improve your mood. 

7)      Turn off the drama – people you know always causing drama – simple turn them off – next time they start talking about so and so – walk away. 

8)      Promote a friends or family night – one night a week you can get together to spend time. 

9)      Make a list - create simple goals and complete them.  Often the result of achieving something can have a positive effect. 

10)   Reward yourself for accomplishments.  Get that new game or dress you wanted when you do something good that is significant. 

11)   Help others.  Often joy can come from helping others without any expectations to have something given back.  Just know you did something for someone.  

 

12)  Exercise – even a simple 10 minute workout each day can promote happiness.
