Tip Spotlight - Create MP3s

Turn your CD collection into an MP3 collection.

Windows Media Player has built in ripping technology to turn your store bought music CD into portable MP3's here how.

Put your music CD in the CD Rom Drive.  Open Windows Media Player if you do not have the latest and greatest version of it you can download it at the link above - just select your operating system.

Once you have opened Windows Media Player, you can select the Rip tab at the top.  It will show you CD's that are available for ripping.  You can now "Right Click" on the Rip tab and it will pull up a little menu that will allow you to select format and bit rate.

Choose format "MP3" and you might have to right click again to pull up the little menu again to select bit rate.  Select 128kbs for bit rate - this will give you great sound quality without using up to much of your portable music players space.

You can start ripping you CD music into MP3s now.
